Moyes: 'Extremely satisfying'

After the victory, David Moyes told the BBC that it was "very rewarding. They are excellent. They performed admirably both last weekend and today.

"We persevered at times because we were steadfast. We persevered and scored another goal even with 10 men.

We didn't play well in the first half, in my opinion. An assist from James Ward-Prowse helped us score a goal. He's always been capable of it, we know. After that, we never played when we had the ball, and they were in control.

In the second half, we made an effort to move closer to them and succeeded. We persevered, performed the fundamentals well, and earned the three points.

"We've never been particularly poor at set pieces. Without strong deliveries, you cannot score. Let's hope (Ward-Prowse)
In the second half, we made an effort to draw nearer to them and succeeded. We persevered, performed the fundamentals well, and earned the three points.

"We've never been particularly poor at set pieces. Without strong deliveries, you cannot score. Let's hope (Ward-Prowse) brings the quality deliveries. He's off to a good start today.

"I told (Michail Antonio) it was a center forward's goal and a great finish.

"Chelsea are an excellent team. If they aren't challenging the best teams, I would be astonished.

"Today's crowd was helpful. We recently returned from Prague. They must remain with us. We need to make some changes to a few things.

"I have no doubt that we'll likely sign a few more players before the window."

Pochettino: "With our first half, we should have won the game."

After the loss, Mauricio Pochettino said to Sky Sports, "That's football. Teams like ours must strike the proper balance. I believe we conceded on a few actions from today that we didn't manage well. We make lots of opportunities, and we performed well in the first half. With our first-half performance, we ought to have won the game.
"We gave up again in the second half with another lonesome move. Finding the right area to set up clear chances can be challenging, but overall, this kind of game is challenging to explain. Though you may have been the superior side and had the possession, you ultimately lost.
"It was our missed penalty's fury. Even when we played well, we weren't given the reward. We hold onto this belief a little bit into the second half before we get back into the game. Carney Chukwuemeka's injury also slightly altered the team's composition. The game then shifts back to our favor, but we still lose. We need to be stronger in this kind of circumstance because we are aware that West Ham defend deeply, counterattack, and use set pieces very dangerously.
"I'm disappointed, but this is just the start. We must have faith in the procedure. We'll definitely be more competitive and stronger, in my opinion.
